Garden Lighting
The concept of garden lighting has been around for quite some time, but it has earned itself a reputation as being beyond the average homeowner due to its expense and requiring frequent maintenance. This is certainly true of older incandescent and halogen style fittings, where heat cycling and water ingress leads to water and electricity mixing where it shouldn’t, promoting corrosion, and leading to faulty light fittings.
It doesn’t need to be this way! Newer LED garden lights need far less (sometimes zero!) maintenance, are quite often factory sealed to prevent water ingress, generate a fraction of the heat, and offer the safety of extra low voltage – allowing them to be installed virtually anywhere in your garden! Commonly used to light up feature trees, accentuate architectural elements, give a gentle glow to your pond or water feature, or even just light the pathway at night for your guests safety – you are really only limited by the bounds of your imagination!
Couple that with the professionalism and product knowledge of the team at O’Shea Electrical, we can help you turn your garden into the highlight of your property!
Task lighting
Specialised task lighting used to be a market cornered entirely by plug in lamps. Maybe we just got used to them taking up desk and floor space, maybe it’s a bridge too far to get the cabinets re done to include some LED strip lighting…
Modern LED strip lighting allows us to light up just about any surface you like, using various neat aluminium extrusions to both conceal everything and neatly diffuse the light output to suit your specific needs. And it can all be retro fitted! From lighting up your kitchen bench, to gently illuminating your living area from behind the curtain pelmets, from night lights under your floating vanity, to lighting up your stair treads, O’Shea Electrical has the know how to make it happen!
Home Automation
Once upon a time, automation used to go hand in hand with completely rewiring your home. Today, there are products on the market that offer retrofit solutions that are scalable to your needs – they can be installed on existing wiring, and only where you need, or want, it!
Control and adjust timers and dimmers, schedule the operation of motorised blinds and exterior lighting, temporarily disable lighting to curious guests in no go areas, have pre-set modes for multiple areas while entertaining large groups, all from a phone app!
Home Theatre
Gathering around the TV for movie night, getting everyone over for the footy, or pushing the couches to the side and turning up the tunes for a boogie – the home theatre set up has been the centre of socialising with family and friends for generations. So it’s vital that it all works together as seamlessly as possible, while remaining neat and pleasing to the eye. Most of all, though, it has to be easy to live with and use every day.
That means that clever design is a crucial first step, and getting the basics right. Modern home theatres are highly reliant on all kinds of power and data cabling, and neatness depends on being able to conceal it all, while being accessible exactly where it needs to be. Even the most high end home theatres are frequently let down by ugly cabling, unstable data connections and poor signal quality.
