What Types of Electric Heaters Do We Install?
Here’s a look at the four main types of electric heater installation we handle across Melbourne.
Panel Heater Installation
Panel heater installations are a practical, cost-effective way to heat individual rooms. They mount to the wall, connect to your existing wiring, and need no gas or flue. Most installations connect to an existing circuit without any board work – though larger units (2,400W+) may need a dedicated circuit.
If your board needs attention, we can take care of a switchboard upgrade at the same time.
Bathroom Heater Installation
There’s nothing quite like stepping out of a warm shower into a freezing cold bathroom on a Melbourne winter morning. A bathroom heat lamp or 3-in-1 unit changes that. They provide warmth when you need it, as well as practical benefits like exhaust ventilation and lighting.
Bathroom electrical work has strict zone requirements under AS/NZS 3000, including minimum IP ratings and a 600mm clearance from water sources. Our electricians know these rules and ensure every bathroom heater installation is safe and compliant.
O’Shea Electrical is also an authorised IXL Tastic agent in Melbourne. We stock, install, and repair their range.
Heated Towel Rail Installation
A hardwired heated towel rail installation keeps your bathroom warmer and your towels dry between uses – particularly useful in bathrooms prone to mould.
Running costs are minimal at around $0.40 per day (RACV, 2024), and with a timer installed you can set it to warm up before you get out of bed. We’ll let you know upfront if new cabling is needed behind tiles or cabinetry.
Electric Ceiling Heater Installation
Ceiling heaters work well where wall space is limited – bathrooms, hallways, and covered alfresco areas. The right electric heater installation method depends on your ceiling type and cavity access, which we assess during the quote.
